Yesterday was mine and dad's 48th wedding anv. We celebrated it by going over to the Branch to the young Single adults family home evening. We had to participate in their lesson. It was a fun time. I had made 9 loaves of banana bread yesterday, needless to say I was in the hot kitchen awhile. We took the pop too. We left before they ate their dinner there. Their food doesn't appeal to us. I can't believe we have been married for so long, my how time flies by when you are having fun. Ha ha Well fun most of the time and we have such a great familly. We love you all. Hope you are all doing good this week. Hello to everyone that gets this e-mail. Thanks for the ones we recieved. Keep up the good work. Frank and Patricia e-mailed us that they were now finished with their great mission to Kirkland Ohio. Boy will we all have stories to tell at a later time. Frank has done some art work at Kirkland for the church and I'm sure we will all get to see it. (mostly on my walls). I told him to save me prints so I can frame them. Sorry to hear about Joe White, he got killed this week at an excavation job. The dirt in a trench caved in on him and his son was there with him and managed to free his head, but Joe died before they could get his body out. He is from Nephi and around Bills age, nice people I feel bad about it. Dad and I went to Accra for three days last week and our friends that we came out with (they live as far up as we do only on the other side of the river in a place called Nkawkaw, the Mattinsons were there at the same time . We did our shopping for food and went to all the other places we needed to go to. We ate out of course, they have some nice resturants, nothing like there at home, but good for here. Pres. Sis. Smith went with us on Thurs. night to a place called the Irish Pub. Pres. says don't go by the name it's an okay place. We were able to go to the Temple for this month. It is a very beautiful Temple. It is decorated with African symbols and gold big gold vases on the tables and african patterned fabric on the chairs, with wood frames carved for the couches and african designs on the glass doors etc. It is a small Temple, of course compared to Timpanogos Temple. It always fun to go down there because it is a little more modern than where we live. More cars, the mall, the places to eat, the museum. No movie theaters or entertainment places. But still the selling on the streets and the poorer living conditions in most of the areas. But some really nice houses too. Most always stucco. Hardly ever see any grass. It is so busy on the roads too. We had a phone call this morning at 4:00 from a family in the Branch, could we come and take Meriam to the hospital to have here baby, we got her there by 5:00 and she had the baby at 6:30. She was really hurting by the time we got her there. Believe me, it was so dirty in there. To have a baby there you have to take your own things, like a bucket to put your soiled cloths in, your own white sheets, your wrap around cloth to put on instead of a night gown there in America. Everything you will need for the procedure etc. It is a bunch of rooms off of a hall, the office and a place for the women who have already had there baby and the labor room you share and have your baby in. We sat there with the husband for a short while. The wife went in and dressed in her wrap around and them had to come out and go down the hall to go to the bathroom. We went outside at that point and came home. Charles said I hope I never have to go to the hospital here. It is hard to explain how it is . The family has two other little boys and now have the third. Just chalk it up to another great adventure in the lives of The Sidwell missionaries in HO. Tonight is Charles's Pres. meeting. We are so happy to hear news about the individual families, we wait to hear all.
PS: Weather getting hotter now the rainy season is starting towards its end. It is way humid here and we are thankful for our air conditioning.
