It's election time here in Africa, so for the safety of the missionaries we are in a lock down in this mission. Sunday, Monday and we don't know about Tuesday until in the morning. We called President Smith and he let us go and get the missionaries today (Mon) to feed them lunch and then take them back home. Everything looks calm here today the question is tomorrow, that is the day everyone will know who the winner is. Wednesday morning we are taking two missionaries down to Accra and bringing two greenies back..... It will be a long day of travel. But it is always sad to see the old missionaries go but good to get new one too. Last week we went to Accra on Wednesday to take Daniel (ward clerk) to the Temple to get his endowments, we then took him to the Tro -tro to get a ride back to HO. Charles and I stayed the night. Our friends the Mattinsons came on that day for some reason too and so we ended up going to dinner. We spent the next two days there also doing the odds and ends we always do down there. It seems like the traffic is getting worse there. It took us an extra 30-40 minutes to just get to the Tema roundabout. It is so crazy, there are no police or rules and it is just a big bottle neck . Last Wednesday we had a little wreck with the car. We were turning left and a motor cycle hit us on the passenger side. It was an odd experience to see it coming at me and unable to do anything about it. A big blue truck had broken down on the road and the motorcycle went around it on the wrong side. It was a man and a women. No one was hurt but the cycle's front tire was turned and the fender bent. The car was dented and scratched and the piece by the front tire bent so that when I opened the door it was hard and creaky sounding. No police, no insurance, no nothing here. So we got names and numbers and went our way. The cycle man had some one come and pick up his cycle. We then went over to Presient Tay's and he took us to a place where we could get the car fixed. So Charles brought me home and then took the car back to get it fixed. Hours later they had taken the door off and fixed it the best they could , doctored up the scratches etc. fixed the flap on the front wheel and that is it so far. It looks better but not by american standards. We were sure hoping we could get by this whole mission without incidents like that. That happened the day before we went to take Daniell to the Temple. We feel blessed that no one was hurt. What's going on with all of you ? Let us hear from you. We are doing good and hope you are doing the same. Love mom
