Charles has just gone to Pres. meeting, he left me here cause I don't like to go to the Branch and sit for 3 hours on the hard benches. I enjoy my time alone. Last week we went on Tues to the Falls with the single adults. It was fun. Wed. we had to go back down to the Accra area to a mini Zone meeting with the new mission pres. and wife. 3hours back down, sometimes I feel like a yo yo ha ha. It's a good thing we have a new car, we are wearing it out. We now have to pay for a lot of gas. The mission only gives us 150.00 a month and we have to pay the rest. 5 dollars now , complain , complain. ha ha . Anyway at the mini zone each Elder and of course the couple had to get up and bare their testimonies. Dad and I got up together and did ours. Then Sis Smith and then Pres. Smith bore theirs. We had refreshment and that was that, oh we did have to meet with the Pres. a few minutes after to get any additional instructions about our area. We then gave our six missionaries a ride to the tro-tro station, five in the back and I slide in the middle on the gear shift and one sat in the front. Packed in like sardines. I gave them banana bread and a banana. No place to get food, and sent them off back to Kpong and Ho on the tro-tro. Poor guys, dad and I then went on into Accra about 40 min. to get there from our meeting area. We met up with the Mattinsons, our friends from No. Jordon that we came out with. They live a bout the same distance away only on the other side of the river. They were coming to Accra too. We try to plan to meet when we both have to come to Accra. We got our room and then went to the mission home to wait for the office couple to get off work. They like to go with us too. We always go to dinner since there is not anything else to do. No movies or anything, a few resturants some better than others. We went to a place called Captain Hooks, yes your right, fish. We had two big plates of differnt kinds of fishh etc. calamari, sword fish, shrimp, red snapper and others. It was served with potaotes and rice and a salad, we are told to be careful and not eat the lettuce here in Africa. Tomatoes and onions and cucumber we could eat. They all loved it. I ate some, but do not like fish that well. It was great. After we went to Max mart and got a Magneum ice cream, it's the only place we know that has good ice cream. It is like a Melt-Knickel, you know ice cream with chocolate on it. Then home to our room for the night. Wow big night on the town. Next morning we did a little shopping and then over to the Area Office where the Area Exec Sec. and wife invited us to go to lunch with them and the office couple from Cape Coast and other area office man. We went to the best resturant we have eatten in since we came here. It was chinese food and the best I've ever had. Each of us ordered something different and then we all took some of each. wow , it was so good. That's the good thing about living in Accra, they at least have resturants to go to. But it's big and dirty and busy and I'm glad to live in HO where it is pretty and green. Each place has it's good and bad. After lunch we finished our shopping and then came home. What a long day. But fun to have a change. The rest of the week we did our usual things and so back into the routine. feel like I'm on vaction most of the time.
