July 21, 2008 (Part II)

Next day The Pres. called and said what's the deal on the bridge? We told him and he said come when you can down to Accra because the sticker on the car is due and we don't want it to lapse. We were happy because we wanted to go to the Temple for the month and the temple was going to be closed for the rest of July after the 20th. So you see we were able to go down in time to get to the Temple, the Lord looks out for us in these things too. We got up early and were to the bridge before 8:00 and we were able to have a wonderful day, we had brought 3 people with us but only one went to the Temple with us . The others had a graduation of a brother and had needed a ride down to Accra. We were able to take the new printer , that we had bought recently down to the area office and they helped us get it going. We had tried up here and others had come and tried but couldn't get it to work. The man at the office knows us so well now because we are always bothering him with it. oh well . Stopped at the mission home to do are usual things and the office couple there that we usually go to dinner with and things gave us a couple of small tables for our house. She couldn't use them in her apartment, sis Smith , the new Mission wife didn't need them and so I ended up with them and I'm happy about that. We had a little trouble at the bridge on the way home . It was around 6 and getting dark and the road was lined up with trucks , cars, vans people and etc for a least 2 miles trying to cross the bridge. Dad just went right over to the other side of the road no one could get through on the other lane and so we went the two miles as quickley as we could and got right up to the front to be funneled into the three lanes all trying to get into the moving lane. as we were sitting there trying to get in there was a rowdy funeral group singing and shouting and carring a large tree branch were right in the way in the middle of the traffic and once we got around them it was clear and we hurriedly pulled into the line and a man came and pre-sold us our token of 5 pisawa(5cents) along with about ten other cars and they lets us all go across. The other side was just as jammed and they alternated ten at a time to cross one from one side and then the other. We were happy to be across, we said a prayer before we crossed and we were happy to be on our way home. It is always an adventure here. It is so hard to describe it all because it is a third world country remember , the roads are narrow , the people in the way all the time. The shack stores and chaos. Kris tolds us, enjoy the experience because it only comes by once here. This is the first time since 5 mos. of marriage (when I got pg with Jeff) that we have been living together by ourselves. Don't mistake, we still growl at each other but are really closer than ever. Maybe it's because we are practically the only white people here in Ho and we have to take good care of each other. Brenen, the place we live in , the town , is actually a simple word called HO. We will be here the whole l8 months. Aren't you happy you get to move around? We are doing great . Thanks again for being our family, we really love each and everyone of you from the oldest clear down to the new baby that we don't really know yet. I appreciate my brother and sisters too and could not ask for better family. love and kisses to you all .......mom
