Today, my wish was to have my birthday today and go to the water fall and monkey santuary. My sweet husband granted my wish. I always have more fun on the day after anyway. We got up early, took the two missionaries with us and travled the 2 and half hours to WLI falls. This is the second time we have gone. This time was even better. We went to the falls first, it didn't rain on us this time and we got to enjoy it for a long period of time.
There was a young women there by her self from France. She was traveling alone. We talked with her, it was very iteresting. She is traveling for 6 weeks and just takes one day at a time. She travels by tro-tro . I could never go off and travel or anything by myself. After coming back down from the falls it takes about 40 to 45 minutes to walk up the trail and a little faster coming down.
But anyway I had fixed us a lunch and we were able to eat it at a little table at the ranger station and then we proceeded to the monkey santuary about an hour back down the road. This time Charles didn't want to go , I begged him to come but he didn't want to pay the price, (you know him) but I got a discount for the elders and me by telling them we were ministers. He talked to me later and ask me about being a minister etc. and I told him I had been there before and he said next time you come ask for Foster and he would let me go free. I know I will go back again . We saw tons of monkeys. We walked for bit to a road and turned in to it and he started making a hissing monkey sound aned the trees just came a live. I swear there were a hundred. He had bananas and there were some other people with the group from france and he gave us bananas and they came and got pieces , you had to hold on tight so they only got a piece and then you could give some to another , we were there taking pictures and hearing all about them by Foster. We got lots of pictures. It was so great. When we got back to the ranger place Charles was sitting on the wooden bench and was sad that he hadn't gone with us. Home and now dad has gone to the church for Single Adult family home evening as he had to talk there. Then Pres. meeting after. I just lock the door and pull the curtains and have a good time doing what I want while he is gone and right now it is typing you people a message. I sure do love you all and so thank-ful for the e-mails that tell me what you are doing. Last week was kinda interesting for us. We left here to go down to Kpong for our weekly District meeting with the elders there. We got to the bridge about an hour away and it was all crowded and cars and tro-tros here and there and people and come to find out the bridge was closed. Course the bridge is the only way across and so there was a mess African style chaos. Some had just parked there car in the way and locked it and left, no where to be seen and others mad a hornets cause it was in their way and they couldn't leave and things like that. After setting there for a time while the missionaries walked over to the bridge and talk to someone that could tell us what was going on and then they came back and we were able to turn around and go back home. The road had sunken down some on one side of the bridge and they didn't dare let anyone across until an engineer or someone could come and see it. They finally the next day could let one side open, but you had to go across before 8:oo in the morning and after 1:00 in the afternoon.
